ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
Opportunity to participate in a Volunteering Project under EUROPEAN SOLIDARITY CORPS. ROLE: – Support in learning and executing all the tasks that are carried out – Support to the people responsible for the project in the programming, development and evaluation of the same W MORNING WEEKLY TASKS: MONDAY – Recognition/observation of the orchard and greenhouses – Work in orchards/greenhouses – Launch of the weekly product offer TUESDAY – Theoretical classes on organic farming – Research and dissemination groups in organic farming – Creation of documentary and photographic material – Work in orchards/greenhouses WEDNESDAY – Theoretical-practical classes in labour and social skills – Orders management – Cleaning of boxes – Gardening/maintenance work THURSDAY – Harvesting of vegetables – Preparation of boxes with orders – Plantations FRIDAY – Distribution of orders – Reception of visits – Work in the orange grove 3 AFTERNOONS A WEEK: SCHOOL FOR ADULTS.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
Volunteer will live in a shared flat with other ESC volunteers. The flat contains all the necessary amenities and WI-FI. Volunteer will receive monthly allowance that includes pocket money and food. The volunteer will receive during the whole project a monthly transport card which allows the travel in METRO and BUS.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
Volunteer will receive Spanish classes besides the training offered by the Spanish National Agency (ESC training and evaluation cycle). Volunteer will acquire during the experience in Valencia the following competences: + Integration into the organisation + Social and intercultural skills + Language skills + Technical skills learning
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
FOR EU CITIZENS ONLY. We do not demand any special skills or experience in the field but yes volunteers need to show interest, participation, initiative, sense of responsibility and flexibility and a basic level of Spanish would be very grateful and welcomed.
