Spain Murcia ESC European Solidarity Corps With our Proyecto Santomera – Ciudad Educadora we offer a volunteering project to work transversally with different councils of the municipality, looking for educational spaces that could develop the city and enrich our community with the involvement of our citizens. One of the lines of the project involves the collaboration and development of public initiatives from the Department of Education, Childhood and Good Government; and from the Department of Youth and Culture. Our objectives would be: – Encourage reading, especially among the youngest, through creative initiatives. – Convert the Municipal Library into a cultural space of reference. – Encourage children and adolescents’ participation in the municipality, generating spaces for the involvement of the community. – Promote historical heritage, from a perspective of value and relevance. – Develop cultural initiatives of public interest, giving value to the talent of local artists.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
It will all be managed by the coordinating organization, the association Red Internacional B-Live. In addition to the “pocket money” and “food allowance”, each volunteer will be provided with their own room in a shared flat with other volunteers. Said flat will be located in the city centre of Murcia, in order to facilitate all the displacements that the volunteer will have to do, not only project-related, but also for their day to day and to experience everything that the city offers. Also, they will have bikes at their disposal, to explore Murcia and its surroundings 🙂
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
Volunteers will participate in an on-arrival training and mid-term evaluation, both organized by the Spanish National Agency. In addition, they will enroll in the Online Linguistic Platform and will be able to attend a Spanish course in the first weeks of their stay (30-40 hours of duration). All volunteers will participate in a monthly meeting with the coordinating entity, also each of them will have a supervisor within the hosting entity (to talk about schedule, personal projects, etc) and a mentor outside of the entity (to share ideas and problems, get to know the city, etc).
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
We are open to all types of profiles that may come to us, and the coordinating entity, the association B-Live, will participate in the ongoing selection process under the guarantee of a safe and open selection. After an initial projection of the CVs, we will proceed to a selection that will consist of a careful reading of all the motivation letters and a call or video call, to learn more about the volunteer, their experiences and their interests.
