Profellow Editorial Intern Freelance Stipend: $600 Duration: 3 months (September to December) with the option to extend through the spring semester
Stipend: $600 for the semester, 10 hours of work per month (flexible hours)
Start Date: Ideally, the week of September 11, 2023
Seeking a U.S. undergraduate or graduate student; U.S. work authorization required
About the Opportunity
We seek an organized and motivated undergraduate or graduate student to be an editorial intern to support content production for our social enterprise. This is a remote freelance opportunity (10 hours per month).
During a typical week, you will coordinate content production and copy-edit about 2-5 articles. Coordinating content production includes contacting fellowship recipients to prepare interview feature articles and assign content production tasks to other writers and team members. Copy editing for articles includes fixing typos and grammatical errors, creating engaging titles, adding introductory paragraphs, adding relevant internal and external links, ensuring target keywords are included and appropriately placed throughout an article, and ensuring content is published on time and included in our weekly newsletter.
Our Editorial Intern will also have the opportunity to receive mentorship on media and publication operations. You will learn the full life cycle of our media work, from content ideation to production and publication and will have the opportunity to participate in team training.
This is a great role for an undergraduate or graduate student who:
- enjoys writing and editing,
- appreciates opportunities to meet and work with ProFellow staff and with fellowship organizations and fellowship recipients,
- craves meaningful work and wants to make a difference in people’s lives,
- is highly motivated, goal-driven, and a natural problem solver, and
- would love to work with a team that’s on a “career adventure”.
