Germany Witten ESC European Solidarity Corps As a volunteer at Tausche Bildung für Wohnen you will work and live in a young team. We are an independent child and youth welfare organization and care for disadvantaged children between the ages of six and fourteen in the afternoon at our institution. In addition to helping them learn, you will organize leisure and vacation projects together, as well as educational workshops for children and events in the neighborhood. In the morning, you will prepare the program or assist in school lessons. Administrative tasks, such as organizing the weekly groceries, contacting parents and managing registration are also part of your service. You will always be supported and accompanied by our team. You will receive a qualification at the beginning and during your assignment, which will prepare you for the daily work! You always have the chance to bring in your own ideas. We would like to support you in getting to know your personal skills and developing them further.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
We will provide you with a shared room during the assignment. Only people who also work in our organization live in the shared room. The room is furnished. There is an equipped kitchen, a washing machine, and a community room for everyone. The apartment is within walking distance from the institution. In the immediate vicinity, you will find everything for everyday use: grocery store, pharmacy, post office, train connection. Once a week we cook lunch together, otherwise the volunteers cater for themselves.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
The participant will be offered various training opportunities in a monthly basis on various topics: project & budget management, time management, Miro training, Photoshop etc. Other than that, we offer non-informal monthly activities and get together events .
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
We want you to enjoy working with children and young people. This requires resilience, courage to make mistakes, and open communication within the team about your needs. We support you in this! We are looking for creative, fun-loving people who are motivated to learn, develop and gain experience. You should be interested in educational equality and diversity. German language level of B2 is mandatory for this opportunity.
