Germany Leipzig ESC European Solidarity Corps The Free Rudolf Steiner School Leipzig was founded in 1990 and accommodates about 350 students. The Rudolf Steiner School leads students from grade 1 to grade 13. The ESC will be in the the day nursery, which is associated with the school. The Rudolf Steiner pedagogy pursues a holistic approach within children’s mental and intellectual education. The curriculum is structured by the pupils’ stages of development and aims at supporting and developing intellectual, mental and physical skills appropriate for the respective age. The day nursery offers a mentoring programme in the afternoon for grades 1-4 (6 – 10 years). The staff of the Free Rudolf Steiner school consists of around 50 members. Two members are directly involved in the project. Moreover, there are between 50 and 100 adult voluntary helpers working at the school.

Single room in a shared flat close to the city center of Leipzig, money for food and transportation and pocket money
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
Two seminars organized by NA. In addition we will realize several project days towards topics solidarity, visiting institutions and organizations, contact persons in Leipzig. The volunteers will be asked to realize an own project based on the issues of the project days.
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
We would like to see the following: Interest in working with children, autonomy, open-mindedness, own ideas. We are little focussed on specific selection criteria, having a great potential of integration. We cannot consider applicants from countries that require Visa.
