ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
The”Kita SieKids Villa Pus teblume” is a bilingual (german/french) day care centre located near the city centre of Karlsruhe. The centre offers a full-day childcare from 7 am to 5:30 pm for 83 children separated in 6 groups, depending on their age (from 6 months to 6 years ). We provide a daily lunch and an afternoon snack. A various program for the Children i s offered. Besides playing together, they can experience themselves by playing and working with art and colours, doing sports, by being curious in experiments and natural sciences, by playing theatre or by doing handicrafts. The children are always accompanied by the educators . The main goal is that the interests of the children are being supported by the educators and the volunteers. ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
The volunteer will be accommodated in a house with other ESC volunteers. The volunteers share kitchen, bathroom and a common room. There’s no own sleeping room for everybody but we have a rotating system so that everybody can have his/her own room for some time. Beside there’s also a room where guests can stay. The volunteer receives approx. 150 € pocket money and approx. 250 € money for food every month. He/she will also receive a ticket for the public transport.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
The volunteer has two trainings from the National Agency within his/her voluntary service. Additionally the volunteer can also join a training to become a certified youth group leader. The coordinating organisation is taking care of that program and will give more information.
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
• At least 18 years old • Interest in educational work! • Interest and some experiences in working with children • Good knowledge of English and French (understanding, speaking, writing, reading), basic skills in German would be helpful but aren’t obligatory • You have an accredited sending organization. (PIC number, accreditation number, name and contacts on sending organization) • Open to get to know Germany and German culture and interested to live in another country for a year.
