France Le Mans ESC European Solidarity Corps Concordia is an organisation working on non-formal education principles. We develop projects on volunteering, international workcamps, european youth exchange and training courses. We also run activities on topics which are very important for us, such as Sustainable Development. We work on those projects in teams, and give the possibility to young volunteers (French and international) to develop the projects on their own with our partners. It means that the volunteers work together, with our support, and build the activities that they want to build. Volunteers are in the center of our projects. Concordia Normandie Maine is also developing actions to fight against discriminations and raising awareness about European mobility.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
The volunteer will live in a shared flat near to the office. He/she will have his/her own bedroom and share the flat with 2 or 3 more volunteers. Together, volunteers share all the tasks relative to the daily life: cleaning and taking care of the place. The place is next to a tram station (2min by feet). All the facilities are on the neighborhood. The neighborhood is surrounded by a forest, a lake and only 20minutes of tramway far away from the city center. The volunteer will get a certain amount of money every months and will manage it him/herself.
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
Concordia Normandie Maine offers training to volunteers in the fields of human rights, ecology, the social and solidarity economy. We train the volunteers in project methodology, meeting facilitation and support them in their professional project. We hold at least one team meeting per week and we attach great importance to ensuring that everyone can find their place.
