Charleroi Belgium ESC European Solidarity Corps You will support the pedagogical team of the Citizen Service Network, which accompanies youngsters between 18 and 25 years old who commit themselves for six months to a voluntary mission in Belgium in our Citizen Service program. You will be involved in the recruitment and follow-up of young people, in the cooperation with the host organizations that welcome young people in the Citizen Service, in the organization and animation of information sessions, integration weeks, workcamps, trainings, exchange times, complementary missions and the annual closing ceremony. You will participate in weekly meetings of the pedagogical team, as well as in meetings and strategy days with the entire team of the Citizen Service Network. During your assignment, you will be expected to be actively and creatively involved, you can, for example, propose new activities to the team, and to carry out a personal project if you wish.
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
You will share a flat with others volunteers in Charleroi. The flat is located 20 minutes away (by bus) from the Citizen Service Network headquarters. You will receive a mobility card (for buses/metro and tram ) and a monthly allowance (for food and pocket money).
TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY
You will first receive a pre-departure training before living your home country. Then, once you arrive, the Belgian National Agency (BIJ) will organize an arrival and mid-term training. Aside from that, you will have the opportunity to take part in the trainings organized for the young people on Citizen Service (integration week, democracy, environment, interculturality, communication, etc.), you will participate to the institutional presentation of the Citizen Service Network. You will be accompanied by your tutor who will train you along you volunteer period. You will receive language course
PARTICIPANT PROFILE
We are looking for someone who is open-minded (interested in meeting young people from all backgrounds and social backgrounds), interested in exploring and deepening the themes of citizenship at local and European level, interested in sharing his ideas and culture with other volunteers and able to work independently and as a team. The main language, especially with our target groups is French, so a basic level of French is required.
