Spain ESC European Solidarity Corps Project in Vallecas district and Ciudad Lineal

Coordinadora Infantil y Juvenil de Tiempo Libre de Vallecas is a nonprofit association created by organizations working with children and youth at risk of social exclusion in Vallecas district and Ciudad Lineal, in the south-east of Madrid, Spain. It gathers 22 associations, 500 volunteers and more than 2,000 children and youngsters are involved in their projects. Coordinadora’s mission is to strength and to encourage the networking of social organizations in Vallecas, promoting social transformation and betting for the development of children, youth and their families. We run an office for european mobility called Europa Joven Madrid, along with the Youth Department of Madrid City Council. There, we organise European activities, info session, training for volunteers and events about Europe addressed to young people. The tasks will be related to support the daily work of Europa Joven Madrid, organising info sessions, language workshops, youth information events, animating social media.

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

Volunteer will live in a shared flat with with locals in Madrid or with other volunteers. This will be arranged by the organization, unless the volunteer prefers to organise it by his/herself. The maximum budget for that is 300€ (all bills included). Volunteer will receive food allowance for 180€ per month paid at the beginning of the month. Money for the monthly transport card will also be provided. Last but not least, the young person will receive 5€ per day as pocket money.

TRAINING DURING THE ACTIVITY

Spain ESC Volunteers will attend the training offered by the National Agency (On-Arrival Training and Mid-Term Evaluation). Eventually, the volunteer will be able to attend training courses when the hosting organization might offer them.

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

We are looking for a highly motivated person, interested in administrative tasks, social media and with initiative to develop activities/workshops with youngsters. Preselection by the 30/11/2021 (only preselected candidates will be contacted). Interviews on the 2nd and 3rd December. We will only consider candidates available for the interviews during the indicated dates. Final selection: 09/12/2021.
